EartHand Gleaners Society
EartHand Gleaners Society is an arts-based non-profit that "uses a community-engaged model for creating environmental art projects with opportunities for research, skill development and skill sharing". Sharon Kallis is the founding Executive Director and Rebecca Graham is the Artistic Director. I have had the privilege of being mentored by Sharon on various projects and continue to learn from both her and Rebecca. My current involvement with EartHand is listed below - to learn more about the organization and those involved, and for a comprehensive list of free and paid programming opportunities, visit www.earthand.com.
Art Crop Stewardship
EartHand manages two urban green spaces in Vancouver that grow art materials, Trillium North Park and the Means of Production Garden (MOP). As the Stewardship Coordinator, I host free monthly sessions for the public to join me at both gardens to help maintain the crops. If you're interested in bringing a group to the garden to volunteer your time while learning about the plants on site and their studio applications, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Full schedule and information will be linked here soon.
