Natives and Invasives:
Weaving Space for Generative Intertwined Existence . . .

Picture
This project was a collaboration with artist Chloe Hight and was part of the Emily Carr 2015 Grad Show.
Natives and Invasives: Weaving Space for Generative Intertwined Existence . . . functions as a gallery installation, a platform for social engagement, and a durational experience of growth, decay, and transformation. The invasive plant, English Ivy, is re-purposed and utilized as a platform to support the growth of the endangered native plant Pale Evening Primrose.
This work was largely inspired by the work of local Vancouver artist Sharon Kallis - much gratitude goes out to her generosity of skill sharing.
